CMAT 2014-15 Notification from AICTE


Education NewsAll India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has issued a notification for the Second Common Management Admission Test (CMAT) 2014-15. The scores of CMAT are accepted by the institutions that are running AICTE-approved management programmes. 

CMAT is a national level entrance exam, conducted by AICTE two times in a year facilitating institutions to select suitable students for admissions in Management programs approved by AICTE. 

Students can sit for both the exams, which will be beneficial for the students because they can choose their best score while taking admission in any B-school throughout the nation. The present notification is for second test, which is to be conducted in February 2014. The first test was held in September 2013.

Eligibility Criteria
Graduates of any discipline or final year students can apply for CMAT. Candidates who have already appeared in the first test for 2014-15 can appear for the second test also. The better of two scores will be used for admission for 2014-15.

Test Pattern and Time Duration
CMAT will be of 3 hours duration without any break and will have 100 objective type questions from four areas. There will be 25 questions each with maximum of 100 marks from each of the four topics –
  1. Quantitative Techniques and Data Interpretation,
  2. Logical Reasoning,
  3. Language Comprehension, and
  4. General Awareness.
Each wrong answer results in 1 negative mark.

How to Apply
The application procedure is online where the online registration window will be open from 1st November, 2013 to 2nd January, 2014 at www.aicte-cmat.in.

Registering for CMAT is a 3-step process as mentioned below:
Step 1) Self Registration: The first step is self registration with your e-mail id as a login ID and a password. 
Step 2) Payment Process: You can do the payment in the online mode or cash deposit. 
Step 3) You need to fill the remaining part of the application form which completes the registration process.

Test Fee 
General/OBC: Rs.1200 + Bank charges as applicable and for SC/ST/PD: Rs.600 + Bank charges as applicable. The payment mode can be in cash deposited in any branch of State Bank of India or online through net banking, credit and debit card.

Registration window opens on: 1.11.2013
Last Date for Online Registration: 02.01.2014
Print out of Hall ticket: From 05.02.2014
Computer based test dates: 20.02.2014 to 24.02.2014
Test Timing: Two schedules of 9.30 am - 12.30 pm and 2.30 pm - 5.30 pm
Declaration of result: 14.03.2014
Print out of Score Cards: From 14.03.2014 to 13.04.2014
